being thin is not a sin.

i think now is the time for me to express how i feel about this issue..something which im often associated with.

since young, my body has always been bony..i have to say its genetics, cos i inherited it from my mother..saw her photos when she was around my age and she WAS stick thin!

i have been called names before and am still getting them today..'cicak kobeng', 'kudut', 'kuding', 'popeye's wife (olive)' are some of the titles which i am being presented with..honestly, it hurts. but now, i learnt to let it pass off as a joke..i realise that there's no point feeling sore about it when there are many other things to worry about

i feel that all those people who have an issue with my body are equally insecure about theirs..at least i dont have to worry about having my jeans or pants stuck at my thigh area before they can reach my waist..i can eat all i want and still have no problem with finding the perfect fit when shopping for my clothes..

it took quite a while for me to change the way i view this issue..i used to take it too heart when people comment about my thinness and it affected my confidence..i know im not suffering from any eating disorders cos i eat a lot..well that depends on my mood actually, but i know i dont starve myself or binge on my food and force them out of my system.

the reason why i brought this topic up was because yesterday, as i was on my way home with sheeks, her younger sis smsed her saying that she gained 2kg..and she was so happy about it..then sheeks told me that her sister is about my height, which is around 1.65m but she weighs only 39kg..her sis complained saying that her friends in school called her anorexic..thats why when she found out she gained weight, she was on top of the world.

can you imagine being called anorexic when you're not suffering from one? furthermore, it has such a negative connotation..a growing teenager's self-esteem can be instantly brought down with such labelling.. i don't know what is wrong with kids and teenagers nowadays calling people names..i mean its not so bad if they gossip among their friends..even i do that at times! but to directly give a label to someone regarding a sensitive issue is morally wrong..

at the end of the day, its all about educating these kids..n parents play the most major role in this..from young, these kids need to be instilled with good moral values..in the future, if i see such things happening in the school which im posted to, i will make sure the culprit(s) will be dealt with evenly..dont mess around with miss mariana, i tell u..

moral of the story is, don't hurt your body.. accept it the way it is, be it fat or thin..even if you want to change the way it looks, don't force yourself.. always do things in MODERATION.

ok, now that i've got these off my chest, i feel liberated..wahaha
